A firecracker landed on the roof of Simon's home in 1955 and it burned down.
The front facade and the chimney are all that remain of the small house.

It's just west of the Gazebo.

Simon was an Evangelical Minister for a collection of Mexican-American Catholics who resided in or near Watts.
He preached here in the Gazebo.
Many people believed him to be of Latin descent.
