PURPOSE

PEP
- To facilitate the transitioning into regular life of those about to be released from incarceration and those recently released.
.
- To closely monitor those about to be released from prison in a transitional setting prior to actual release.
.
- To give those recently released from incarceration the opportunity to help themselves when things get "tight" on the outside and crime seems the only alternative and to help a friend who is still on the inside by "PEP-ing" him or her out for short periods of time.
.
- To provide the tools needed to reestablish oneself socially on the outside and develop "crime-free" life-support systems prior to and following an inmate's release.
